READ EDIT AT BOTTOM Well, sort of at least... Our Feed the Beast server we promised ages ago is finally coming to fruition. We are opening a public test server so we can get the final stage finished and opened for real. Right now we are stress testing and bug finding. Lots of things may change during this process. Certain mods may eventually be removed and others added. If you are interested in helping test this, or just want to play and mess around (which is also quite useful!), Download the Feed the Beast client from http://www.feed-the-beast.com/ Select the FTB Presents Direwolf20 (v1.6.1) Minecraft Version 1.7.10 modpack Edit version at the top where it says Recommended to 1.7.0 Select Edit Mod Pack and disable the mods - Botania - ChickenChunks - Hats - HatStand - Morpheus - mystcraft - Opis - MobiusCore After this you should be able to connect to the server using the IP ftb.minecreate.com. We also require that you use the latest version of Optifine HD Ultra for 1.7.10 from http://optifine.net/downloads and set the Max Framerate slider all the way to the left for VSync. This should reduce stuttering and many other performance issues. To install a mod to the FTB client, click on Edit Mod Pack and select Add Mod. Then navigate to the place you put the JAR file for the mod (it does not matter the location) and make sure the mod is enabled in the client. The other Optifine settings are up to your discretion depending on the capabilities of your system, but if the server is not running well you may want to consider lowering the graphic settings to improve performance. Our goal is to make the server run as smoothly as possible for as many people as possible. The server will be hosted on a local machine, so it will not be the quality of a paid host, but it should not be a problem for a few people. During this testing stage, we would like the testers to play with all the mods and find if there are any bugs that cause things to not work properly. Along with this, there will be performance and stress testing. The map will most likely be reset quite often while mods are changed around, so don't become attached to anything you create. Creative mode will probably also be given out while an admin is online. At this time we do not have any way of allowing users to switch gamemodes and survival mode is needed for certain game functionalities to work, so creative mode will only be allowed while an admin is able to switch a user between the two modes as needed. If there is anything you need to communicate with us, use this thread or let us know if you see us in the server. Also, if you have any friends who might be interested in testing, then please show them this thread! This is a public test, so anyone is invited to join. As a final note, this is the testing stage for our Feed the Beast server, and when the testing is over the entire server will be regenerated. This means anything you have gained or created during this time will be lost. --- EDIT --- You can mostly ignore the upper part of this post. Lots of changes have been made! First off, we switched to using the Technic launcher. We have also created our own modpack now, which is why we switched to Technic as managing that will be much easier from there. If you are still interested in hopping on to check things out, download the Technic launcher found on http://technicpack.net/ and paste the link to our modpack in the top left search menu - http://technicpack.net/modpack/minecreate-darkness.739797 The Technic launcher should handle everything else from there, including the Minecraft version. We won't be updating the version of the modpack as changes are made at this point, so if for any reason you cannot connect anymore, delete the modpack and reinstall it as there will probably be a new version ready for download. With this said, we are very close to releasing the finished server, so hold on tight!
